The CRM50R before restoration
CRM50R
This one has been a labour of love, I really don't know what possessed me to do it but as least my sixteen year old will be happy!

When all around you are buying KTM990SM's what do you do ..... Easy, I bought this Ducati in spring 2012. It's the first twin I've ever owned and I love it!

The bike has 4 different riding modes to suit whatever you are doing at the time but I have to admit I haven't used enduro mode yet, it mainly stays in town & touring and occasionaly gets into sport mode if the weathers nice.

That's Matt not me by the way ......

2009 Stafford Show

My CB1100R is a superb bit of kit. Considering it was registered in 1983 it never fails to impress.

I also do a lot with CB900F's (Matt makes sure of that) so the model range is quite well known to me. I'm a member of the CB1100R owners club and hope to attend quite a few of their events next year, in particular I'd like to go to the European meeting but we'll have to see how the funds stretch.

If you want a reasonably priced old classic the CB range (750 & 900) are still very affordable and I've thoroughly enjoyed tinkering with them, they are quite easy to maintain really, despite amateur mechanics claiming there are problems with cam chains there's nothing on CB's that can't be fixed in your garage or your shed (unlike modern bikes)!

My Dirt Bikes

I've got 2 dirt bikes at the moment. A KE175B3 which I keep promising to restore and and a KTM450EXC (OK, I know it's not Japanese and it's too new to be a classic but hey a man's allowed a few luxuries!) which is a superb bit of kit.

Dirt bikes are really hard to restore as everyone trashes them, in particular the plastics suffer badly. If you've got any spares at all please give me a shout I'd love to hear from you.

KE175B3 I'm so glad I finished restoring that KE! KTM450EXC

I'm often out and about in Wales on one of my dirt bikes, I find it a welcome release from the day to day stress of my full time job. Me and my mates get a bit filthy playing in the mud!

Sunk! Big Pete and Andy check for mud in Pete's grunts! Where's that bike gone?

Next year I hope to go to the Isle of Man with my dirt bike during TT week, it's great fun riding green lanes to watch the racing.
